Ice Melt Systems
Tired of clearing snow from your eaves? The ice-melt system that we install uses a commercial heat cable wired to its own circuit in the electrical panel. It can be configured different ways, but for this job the cable was run through a channel built into copper panels with standing seam joints. Those panels are attached to the bottom 12" of the roof, with the tops slipped under the shingle tabs. When it starts snowing, flip the breaker on, the cable warms up the copper panels, and no more icicles or ice dams!
